The Future is Female Concert at the Wiltern

I had a blast conducting the premiere of my piece, “Archangel,” with the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra and choir as part of the concert, KCRW Presents: The Future is Female at the Wiltern Theater here in L.A.. In this evening celebrating the work of female composers for film, TV, and games, I was thrilled to be a part of this talented lineup of composers and performers., all of whom I can now count among my friends. Germaine Franco, Tamar-Kali, Heather McIntosh, Ronit Kirchman, Tori Letzler, Jessica Weiss, Mandy Hoffman, Tangelene Bolton, Emily Rice, Aska, and Perrine Virgile-Piekarski presented a wide variety of music to a packed house.

After the concert, music supervisor Season Kent moderated a talkback panel where we answered audience questions and discussed our experiences in the music and film business. We have all had very different career journeys, and I loved hearing how other women have made their way in this very male-dominated field.

Thanks to everyone who attended! If you missed it, you can see video of my performance on the Video page of my website.
