Emmy Nomination!

What a thrill it was to receive an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) for Once Upon a Time with my co-composers, Mark Isham and Mike Simon! I couldn’t ask for two more talented, inspiring, and fun collaborators who are also all-around cool guys and good friends.

We are part of a much larger music team, as it takes a village to score an episode of this show in a single week with live orchestra. Many thanks to our recording and mix engineer, Jason LaRocca (and sometimes Scott Smith), orchestrators Brad Dechter, Greg Ballinger, Andrew Kinney, Chris Klatman, Tim Simonec, and Cameron Patrick; music editor Justin Hopfer; scoring coordinator Allison Cantor; tech wizard Tyler Parkinson; Pro Tools operator Vinny Cirilli; the Disney music prep dream team of Booker White and Marshall Bowen; orchestra contractor Peter Rotter; concertmaster Julie Gigante, and the wonderful musicians of AFM Local 47 who have played so beautifully every week for seven seasons. We are already winners for being part of such a beloved show for so many years. The nomination is just icing on the magical cake, dearies!
